Contemporary Folk Illustrations

My contemporary colour works are rooted in storytelling, memory, and emotion, blending Indian folk inspired visual languages with a modern artistic sensibility. Through layered textures, rich earthy palettes, symbolic elements, and expressive figures, the paintings explore themes of femininity, intimacy, ritual, and quiet everyday moments.

Influenced by traditions such as Madhubani, these works reinterpret cultural narratives through contemporary compositions that feel both nostalgic and timeless. Ornamental details, textiles, flora, birds, and domestic spaces often appear throughout the pieces, creating worlds that are deeply personal yet universally familiar.

Each artwork is created as a balance between boldness and restraint, where colour, texture, and form come together to evoke atmosphere and emotional connection. The works are designed to bring warmth, depth, and character into a space while carrying layered stories that continue to unfold with time.
