About the Artist

Hi, I am Smriti, a Bangalore based artist and tech professional. My work explores contemporary Indian femininity through themes of nostalgia, culture, memory, and storytelling, creating visual narratives that feel both intimate and timeless.

Inspired by Indian folk traditions such as Madhubani, I reinterpret traditional visual languages through a contemporary lens. My paintings bring together layered textures, earthy yet bold palettes, symbolic motifs, and expressive figures, often drawing from fragments of domestic life, textiles, flora, and quiet everyday moments.

Alongside these richly detailed paintings, my practice also extends into intricate ink sketches and monochromatic studies. Across both approaches, my work is rooted in atmosphere and emotion, exploring themes of femininity, ritual, tenderness, silence, and quiet strength through compositions that invite reflection and connection.
